The City is working on several major projects.
1. Water Supply - potential Rocky Creek reservoir in partnership with Newport and other coastal cities.
2. Wastewater - upgrade the wastewatertreatment plant in two phases and improve the collection system. More than $20 million is estimated for the project. Dale Richwine, the city's consultant for the Master Plan, is working with another consultant who specializes in finding funding sources for municipal projects. The City's current sewer rates may not be high enough for the city to qualify for certain grants. Grant criteria include the income of the residents.

The City is in the process of Urban Renewal projects in the Taft and Oceanlake Districts (Villages).
